Software Freedom Week 2008 , Reach out Team visited about 5 organizations in and around Hubli Dharwad and created FOSS awareness. They took FOSS beyond the SFW Venue.

MOTIVE: To spread awareness about OPEN SOURCE SOFTWARE’S
GLIMPSE:
A seminar was conducted in KLEIT, Hubli for the students of 1st year regarding the event REACH OUT under SOFTWARE FREEDOM WEEK ’08.
Seminar started with an introduction from Pravita. T, about the happenings and consequences of software technology, and its impact. It was an interactive session getting to the interest of all students.
The intro was followed by the technical sessions.
TECHNICAL SESSION:
This session was to make the students understand what open source software source is all about and its uses in day to day life.
Technical session was handled by Asha.B.N and Anand Sortur. It was another complete interactive session which grabbed student’s attention towards OPEN source software’s.
CONCLUSION:
A conclusion to the workshop was given by Shilpa.G.Vaidya with exclusive examples and a perfect ending for an interactive workshop.
FEEDBACK:
The staff of college and students gave a positive feedback about the workshop with a girl volunteering to give vocal feedback on behalf of everyone.
