What is the integral of t-squared times the cosine of three pi over nine dt, from 1 to the cube root of three?
Don’t understand?? Confused??!
Want some help to solve this??
You can use Matlab. What! you don’t have a genuine license? Don’t worry use Scilab.

What is Scilab?
Scilab is free scientific computation tool for engineering and scientific applications.
It has numerical, programming and graphics environment, similar in operation to Matlab, but different in terms of syntax. It is a self-contained package developed since 1990 by researchers from INRIA and ENPC (France), maintained and developed by Scilab Consortium since its creation in May 2003.
Scilab provides a variety of powerful primitives for analysis of non-linear systems. It provides a tool Scicos, for graphic definition and simulation of complex interconnected hybrid systems. Scilab provides best compromise of free software and a sophisticated range of built– in facilities. Scilab has been mainly developed for system control and signal processing applications.
If want to get started or switch to Scilab, here’s a good way to begin. Attend the workshop on Scilab, which intends to introduce you to the basics and help you to exploit
its immense capabilities and also to make your life easy!
Also there will be a contest to conclude the Workshop.

What you should know?
We’ll teach you how to use Scilab, not math. So, you must be familiar with basic concepts of Mathematics- matrices and operations on it, functions, difference equations, basic algebra, complex numbers and calculus.

What we will teach?
1.Using Scilab to develop logic and algorithms for solving mathematics and signal processing problems.
2.Using Scilab to solve equations, difference equations, plot 2D and 3D functions, and analyze systems.

Rules and regulations:
1. For workshop everybody has to register individually.
2. For the contest, team 2 members will be formed.
3. The rules for the contest will be specified on the day of event.
4. The date and venue of the events will be mailed to the participants well in advance.

Date: Sept 24th
Timing: 9.30 am – 1.30 pm
