SODC (SUN Open Source Developer's Community of BVBCET) was indeed lucky to develop relations with The Deshpande Foundation (http://www.deshpandefoundation.org/) during SFW 08. It is one of the leading philanthropic Foundations in Massachusetts and India in the areas of innovation, entrepreneurship and international development through its grant making. about 7 student groups (still to increase) of SODC have been offered LEAD Scholarships to promote FOSS among NGOs & Schools. (With a budget of upto INR 2000 per project they take up!!).

The projects will be similar to the Reach Out & Open Desktop events in softwarefreedomweek.org
